Reminders for Reporting Attendance
Attendance changes must be entered in Veracross.
It’s COLD outside!
Please send students dressed for winter weather — warm coats, hats, and gloves are essential! For safety, students without proper winter clothing cannot go outside.
Middle Choral Concert — Dec. 16
The Middle School Winter Choral Concert is Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 7:30 p.m. in The Schiff Center. Students should report to the chorus room by 6:50 p.m. for attendance and warm-up. They are to wear black on the bottom and white on top, with boys in a tie. It’s going to be a great concert and we look forward to seeing you there!
Lost and Found — Last day, Wednesday, Dec. 17
Unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity on Dec. 18.
iSpace Field Trip: Seventh Grade Two Day Field Trip — Wednesday, Dec. 17, and Thursday, Dec. 18
On Wednesday, Dec.17, half of the seventh grade class will be at iSpace, where students will be immersed into the role of scientist/astronauts. Students are put into various roles of living and working on a lunar research base where they must rely on their fellow crew members to ensure the mission’s success. Students may be tasked with operating a robotic arm, conducting experiments in a glove box, facilitating mission timeline activities, recording and transferring data, navigating, and much more! Students will need to pack a lunch for this day.
The other half of the class will be going to the Reds stadium, where the students will use their math skills to build a championship baseball team. Using budgets and statistics from Major League Baseball, they will compare players’ strengths, weaknesses, and salaries to assemble a nine-man team. We will also take a tour of the stadium. Along with the Reds, the students do a guided walking tour of Over-the-Rhine. A release form is needed. Students have two options for lunch this day: turn in $6 for pizza and drink, or they can pack a lunch.
On Thursday, Dec. 18, the groups will switch. If they were at iSpace on Wednesday, they will go to the Reds and Over-the-Rhine tour, and vice versa for the other group.
All money for pizza lunch and OTR release forms go to the seventh grade team leader, Carri Haskins. If you have any questions about this field trip, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Carri Haskins.
Eighth Grade Service Learning Project — Dec. 18
On Thursday morning, Dec. 18, the eighth grade will participate in a service-learning project for the residents of Tender Mercies. For many years, eighth grade students have been baking individual loaves of apple spice bread for the holidays for the residents of this organization. This year, we want to continue this tradition, and, to that end, your child received a note with a request for a particular recipe ingredient (flour, eggs …) in advisory on Dec. 4. We kindly ask that all ingredients be brought to school by Tuesday, Dec. 16. Please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Neidlein-Dial and/or your child’s adviser for questions. We greatly appreciate your support!
Early Dismissal on Friday, Dec. 19
Winter Break begins at 11:30 a.m. There will be no Encore on Friday, Dec.19. Buses will run as usual in the morning. The shuttle will run both morning and at dismissal. Other than our shuttle, there will be no afternoon buses.
Holiday Care — Friday, Dec. 19
We will be offering Holiday Care for our last day of school on both campuses beginning at 11:30 a.m. This program will run until 6 p.m. and is separate from regular ATB. Register now!
The registration deadline is Friday, Dec. 12. We need a minimum of 15 students for the program to run.
Spring Sports Registration is officially open!
Sixth grade registration will exclusively register through Veracross. If you have any questions for youth registration or need assistance, please contact k6athletics@7hills.org. Seventh and eighth grade registration will exclusively register through Final Forms. If you have any questions for seventh and eighth grade registration or need assistance, please contact Erin Wierzba.

Neurodivergent Community Gathering
A number of families have reached out expressing interest in building community with other families and caregivers who identify as neurodivergent themselves and/or have children who identify as neurodivergent. Neurodivergency includes a wide range of experiences, such as ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism spectrum, processing differences, and more.
We are exploring the creation of a community group to offer connection, shared resources, and space for learning across all four divisions. To help us understand interests and needs across our school community, we invite you to complete this brief interest form.
