What to Know Now

Fall Sports Registration Opens on April 15

Registration for fall sports opens on Wednesday, April 15. Look for an email from Seven Hills Athletics on that day with the link. Registration is through Final Forms.

Parents of 10th Graders Invited to Share Experiences as First- and Second-Generation Immigrants — April 30

We are thrilled to again invite parents of 10th graders to join a panel discussion addressing issues related to immigration, culture and identity, issues that appear in the 10th grade English class capstone text, Jumpa Lahiri’s “The Namesake.”

Please see the parent email for more details about the panel and a short questionnaire you can use to express interest.

Lanyards

All students must wear a school-issued lanyard with their ID badge on it while at school. Compliance has been lower than we need recently, and we’re making a renewed push to ensure all students are wearing them (not only keeping them in their bags). This is a safety issue: we need everyone in our community to be able to quickly recognize who belongs on campus (and who doesn’t), and we need students to be able to immediately access buildings when needed (the IDs open exterior doors for students).

Please help us reinforce this messaging with your child. If students need to replace their lanyard, they can do so at any time at the Tech Office with cash or charge to account. Since the plastic ID sleeves tend to break before the IDs themselves, Mr. Polifka has free plastic sleeve replacements for anyone who needs one.

International Travel for 2026-27

Help us decide which student trips will be offered next year. Please fill out this brief interest survey if you have a child that may be interested.

Information for Prom — April 18

Date/Time

Saturday, April 18, 8-11 p.m. Students must arrive by 8:30 p.m. Students are allowed to leave at 10:30 p.m., and the event ends at 11 p.m.

Location

Prom will be at the Mercantile Immersive, 120 E. 4th St., Cincinnati, OH 45202

Who goes to Prom? What should I wear?

Seven Hills believes Prom should be an inclusive, welcoming event for all students. There is no formal dress code, and all students in grades nine through 12 are invited and encouraged to attend. In 2025, more than 325 students from across all grade levels attended Prom.

Registration

Purchase tickets to Prom via Square. Tickets are $65 each. Cash, check, or credit card will also be accepted at the door, although pre-registration is strongly preferred. Financial aid is available to help defray the cost of Prom tickets for qualifying students; please contact Mr. Catalan or Ms. DiRoma for more information.

Entertainment and Food/Drink

While many students choose to go out to dinner before Prom, warm appetizers, assorted sodas, and a wide selection of desserts are provided. Entertainment includes music from DJ Etrayn, an interactive photo booth, and a variety of immersive entertainment experiences.

Guests

Students can bring one guest and must submit the required Guest Agreement Form. Copies are available in the Upper Office and on the ticket sale website. Completed forms can be emailed to Ms. DiRoma, dropped off in the Upper School Office, or turned in at Prom. Guests must enter Prom with their host.

Security and Safety

Prom is staffed by a large group of faculty, venue staff, and security, who will assist with arrival, pickup, and event safety. Additional details regarding arrival and pickup procedures, safety, parking, and other logistical information will be shared closer to the event.

Save the Date for Upper’s Spring Play “You Can’t Take It With You” — April 24 and 25

The Upper School theater department is proud to present its spring comedy “You Can’t Take it with You.” This Pulitzer Prize winning show features Martin Vanderhof and his large extended family of charming eccentrics. Performances will be on Friday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m. in The Schiff Center. The show is appropriate for all audiences. Tickets will be on sale soon!

Locks for Leonard Hair Fair

Hair donations collected from the Locks for Leonard Hair Fair will be donated to organizations that create wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment or suffering from autoimmune diseases. The hair fair is being organized by the Middle School but all Seven Hills students can participate. To donate your hair, follow these three steps:

  1. Get a haircut! Go to the stylist of your choice and tell them you want to donate your hair. Send before and after pics to Hannah Hanley.
  2. Bring your bagged ponytail to the Middle School office. Include your name on the bag and what grade you are in — we would love to give you a shoutout on our Seven Hills social media.
  3. Grow your hair out! You must donate at least eight inches.

We will accept hair donations through May 1.

Science Spectacular — May 9

Please join us on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. to celebrate science at Seven Hills. Middle and Upper School students will be leading booths for our Early and Lower School students to take part in science-related activities. Please join us for an hour or the whole session!

Activities include hands-on stations across multiple science disciplines, interactive demonstrations, a nature walk, and native species planting project in our creek bed. We’ll also have food to purchase with a variety of food trucks, including coffee, food, and Kona Ice.

Update on Director of Safety and Security Role at Seven Hills

Our Director of Safety and Security Cassandra Tucker recently resigned, and we are working to find a replacement who will begin in the fall. In the meantime, we have collaborated with our School Resource Officer to create an interim safety plan for the remainder of the school year. We are grateful to Sgt. Tucker, who implemented numerous policies and procedures during her time at Seven Hills that keep our campuses safe and secure.

Leave a Review of Seven Hills on Niche!

Help the school and prospective families — at the same time — by leaving a review on Niche. Niche is a website that parents and students can use to research schools (from primary schools to universities) based on student and parent reviews and data from sources like the National Center for Education Statistics. Sharing your perspective as a Seven Hills parent on the page helps in two ways: 1) Families who are researching schools can learn about the Seven Hills’ experience directly from current families, and 2) Reviews from parents contribute to the school’s ranking on Niche. To write a review, visit https://www.niche.com/k12/survey/, search for The Seven Hills School in the search bar, and click “Start survey.”
