Pre-k Winter Spirit Week

Doherty Winter Program

The Winter Program is a tradition we all anticipate. We would like to invite parents of students in kindergarten through fifth grade to the Winter Program on Friday, Dec. 19, at 9:30 a.m. in The Schiff Center at the Hillsdale Campus. Students are asked to dress in nice attire.

Pre-kindergarten parents are invited to attend a performance including all grades, pre-k through fifth, on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 9 a.m. in the Doherty cafeteria. Pre-k students are asked to dress in nice attire and kindergarten to fifth grade students will wear PJs corresponding to their Spirit Week theme day.

A packet of information including a map of the Hillsdale Campus, a Q&A form, and a dismissal form has been sent home. Dismissal forms are due Monday! If you need an extra form please contact your student’s teacher or the office.

Parent Community News

Cookie Exchange

The Teacher Appreciation Committee would like your help! Our teachers have been working hard all year, and we’d like to give them a sweet treat during one of the busiest weeks of the school year! We are looking for volunteers to bring two dozen cookies for a cookie buffet. We will provide to-go bags so teachers will be able to take treats home as well! Please use the Cookie Exchange Sign Up Genius to sign up.

Extra Info:

  • Cookies can be dropped off in the office before 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 15.
  • Please bring your cookies in a disposable container or clearly label your serving dish if you would like it back!
  • Please provide a note card with your name and cookie type!

Thank you for helping make this a special holiday break for the Doherty teachers from the TA Committee

Book Fair Volunteer Help

Please join us on Monday, Dec. 15, after drop-off in the Doherty Library to help organize and distribute book fair purchases to the students. Please email Molly Stark if you can help.

Spirit Shop

Stay cozy and show your school spirit! As the winter chill sets in, there’s no better way to stay warm than with our super-soft school sweatshirts! Stop by the Spirit Shop (self service cabinet at Doherty across from the office) or order online today and have your items delivered to Doherty! Get your orders in early — the Hillsdale shop will operate on regular hours (Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-1:15 p.m.) until Dec. 12, then will run very limited hours (if any) the following week.

Thank you for supporting our volunteer-led organization!

Doherty Winter Family Dance

Save the date for the Doherty Winter Family Dance! This is a family friendly event for the Doherty community on Saturday, Jan. 24, 5-7 p.m.

Neurodivergent Community Gathering

A number of families have reached out expressing interest in building community with other families and caregivers who identify as neurodivergent themselves and/or have children who identify as neurodivergent. Neurodivergency includes a wide range of experiences, such as ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism spectrum, processing differences, and more.

We are exploring the creation of a community group to offer connection, shared resources, and space for learning across all four divisions. To help us understand interests and needs across our school community, we invite you to complete this brief interest form.
